What is Ashes to Fire?

The total Ashes to Fire experience encourages entire congregations- children, youth, and adults- to engage in the same passages of Scripture in Christian proclamation, education and faith formation using the Scripture readings from Year B of the Revised Common Lectionary, Ashes to Fire is an intentional journey with Jesus from Ash Wednesday through Holy Week and Easter and on to Pentecost Sunday- from penitence to praise to power. Central to the Ashes to Fire experience is the daily devotional guide- the Ashes to Fire Year B Devotional- a combination of Scripture reading, prayer, corporate worship, small-group Bible study, and personal journaling.

This 14-week experience was truly designed to be something an entire church could do together. All of the content has been written, designed, and organized, with this in mind. Enhancing the devotional guide are additional resources for worship services and small-group meetings or Sunday School classes. This spiritual adventure has already inspired thousands of Christians in hundreds of congregations in a quest for personal and corporate renewal.
